Education:
Pfeiffer University M. Ed: Elementary Education (August 2010)
Pfeiffer University BA: Elementary Education (May 1997)
UNC Pembroke: AIG Certification (August 2011)
I have served the children of North Carolina for more than 23 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, reading specialist, literacy facilitator and AIG teacher. I currently serve on the board for the North Carolina Association of Elementary Educators (NCAEE).
I completed my undergraduate studies at Pfeiffer University (Misenheimer) in 1997. I completed graduate studies at Pfeiffer University (Charlotte) in 2010. I was awarded Teacher of the Year honors in Gaston County (2003-2004) and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (2005-2006).
I adopted my daughter in May of 2017. She has taught me so much already. I am excited to watch her investigate the world around her.
I enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, shopping for antiques and traveling. I also serve as a mentor in the Buddy Mentor program hosted by Caldwell Presbyterian Church.
I am also an avid gardener. I have most recently started hybridizing daylilies. I am a member of Piedmont Daylily Club. I am a Master Gardener Volunteer for Union County. I serve on the sales committee and co-chair the scholarship committee.
I live in Midland, North Carolina. I am looking forward to the new and exciting challenges that are ahead.
